Don’t miss Tarte & Berry’s delicious treats at The Dales Festival of Food & Drink, which is something of a homecoming for the owners who are originally from nearby Richmond.
Tarte and Berry specialises in delicious artisan bakery treats and is the brainchild of sisters Jane and Lucy Batham. Available both online at www.tarteandberry.com and also at food festivals and pop-ups across the UK, their treats have won both a BBC Good Food Show Award and a business award from Dragons’ Den Theo Paphitis.
Jane is a trained Cordon Bleu pastry chef, having trained at the Tante Marie Culinary Academy and Lucy’s background is in PR and marketing. Together they have combined their passion and skills to create the Tarte and Berry brand.
The sisters insist only on using quality ingredients in their bakes, such as free range eggs and British butter and sugar along with the finest Belgian chocolate. Their delicious treats are proving popular, such as their award-winning Salted Caramel Brownies, Triple Chocolate Brownies and Raspberry and Almond Bakewell – even Philip Schofield is a fan!
Leyburn has a host of food and gift shops, hotels, public houses and restaurants. Visit them and buy something special, have lunch, a snack or a cup of tea. Even better stay for the evening and enjoy the entertainment and hospitality.
